The student is evaluated in any course during the semesters through tests, assignments, and various activities that are consistent with the nature of the course, and that show the extent to which the student has absorbed the scientific content of the course.

The student's results in his university studies are evaluated according to the following:

  1. The maximum student mark in each course is (100) points.
  2. The minimum passing score for each course is (50) points, provided that the cumulative average is not less than 60% or less than (2 points out of 4 points).
  3. The student's university study results are evaluated based on his semester and total cumulative GPA, and the consequent success, warning, dismissal, remedial study, or placement of his name on the honor board at the university is based on that.

At the beginning of each semester or academic year, the College Council issues a decision showing the distribution of scores for each of the theoretical and practical sections (exams, assignments, activities and practical), taking into account the following:

  1. At least two semester work exams are taken in any course, in addition to the final exam at the end of the semester.
  2. A percentage of no more than (50%) of the course mark is allocated for the semester work, and no less than (50%) of the course mark is allocated for the final exam, and it is written and comprehensive if the course is of a theoretical nature and taught in an applied college.
  3. Not less than 40% of the course mark is allocated for the year’s work, and no less than 60% of the course mark is allocated for the final exam, and it is written and comprehensive if the course is of a theoretical nature and taught in a theoretical faculty.
  4. The college councils (theoretical and applied) indicate how to distribute the marks that are set for courses of a practical nature, research seminars, applied projects, joint and field training, and clinics, provided that this distribution is approved by the concerned college council.
  5. It is not permissible to enter the final exam for those who did not obtain 25% of the semester work mark.
  6. A person who does not obtain 25% of the final exam mark is not deemed successful, regardless of his total final grades.
  7. The final assessment of the student in a course is determined by collecting all marks of tests, practical exams, assignments, scientific activities, and final exams. The sum of these marks constitutes the final total grade for the student in the course.
  8. All courses that the student is studying are recorded in his record, and their grades are included in his cumulative GPA, and the same course is not counted in the student's GPA only once.

The literal equivalents and points corresponding to the percentage points obtained by the student are determined as a total score in a course according to the table shown below:
