Operating systems

The fundamental concepts of multi-layer architecture, interrupt architecture, system calls and procedure concepts, synchronization and protection, scheduling, memory management including virtual memory and message exchange techniques, I/O architecture and hardware management, file systems, and distributed file systems are covered. Case studies of Unix and Windows operating systems are presented. The design and implementation of small operating systems are also discussed.
